Back on the Saddle

In the days following the demise of the Flite, I scoured the internets for a new saddle and a seat post to go with it (the previous post was an experiment that wasn't working out).

It's difficult to find just the right saddle, so I figured I'd find something that wasn't too expensive, but would tide me over until I found The One.

Finding the right seat post is easy, you buy the Thompson Elite. Everything else is just a shadow of the form.

So, I found the best price on the seat post, then found a reasonable saddle at the same place and ordered them. When they arrived, I was surprised, impressed and frankly a little disturbed by the quality of the packaging.

A picture is worth a thousand words, so here you go:

The Selle San Marco SKN Pro in its custom box.

The Thompson Elite in its fancy pants bag.

The other side of the fancy pants bag.

A peek at the post because, after all, it is the Thompson Elite.

And here they are in their natural environment.

In case you were interested: The SKN Pro is surprisingly comfortable considering that it's really a road saddle and has virtually no padding. It should do the trick nicely while I start my quest for the perfect saddle. If you have recommendations, please let me know with a comment.
